What We Read (and REALLY liked): Naomi Novik's Scholmance Series
At 14, children with magic are transported from their homes into The Scholomance until they "graduate" at 17, but many will not make it out alive due to mal (magic creatures) attacks and other accidents (and a few murders). While some students display an affinity for languages or alchemy, El has an affinity for dark magic and mass destruction and is having enough trouble with the challenge of not going dark (no matter what her grandmother's prophecy says), but finding friends and a way out
New Books: Celebrating Women's History Month

We know spookiness isn't everyone's cup of tea, so we've included some lighter fare for those who enjoy the cozier side of autumn. Continue reading for seasonal recommendations of graphic novels, audiobooks, and print books. Psssst...don't forget, we'll be painting pumpkins for Crafternoon later this month! Join us
May is Mental Health Month
It's been an unconventional [see: literary term-- understatement] few months. May is always Mental Health Month, but due to the stresses and uncertainties a lot of us are facing, it seems particularly important this year. There are lots of ways to attend to your own mental health needs and for many, meditation and yoga or other mindfulness practices may be beneficial.
