Durham Tech has launched a new downtown Durham location.
The Durham Tech Small Business Center and Corporate Education department is now housed in the redeveloped Chesterfield Building in the 700 block of West Main Street.
The new location officially opened with a reception on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

During the student activities trip to Washington, DC last week, several students participating in the Global Distinction Program took an afternoon to learn about policy making with a special visit to the Migration Policy Institute (MPI). MPI is a non-partisan, non-profit think tank dedicated to researching issues of migration around the world.
When Durham Tech graduate and aspiring professional actor Auntais Faulkner saw that a Portland, Oregon, theater was accepting applications for its acting apprenticeship program, he knew he had to apply.

“Durham Tech is part of a Title VI grant [from the Department of Education] awarded to the UNC-CH's Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies. The grant runs for four years, and the sub-award to Durham Tech amounts to more than $50,000 that can be used for instructional costs, speakers/events, library materials and curriculum development,” said David Long, dean of creative and liberal arts at Durham Tech.
