What We're Reading: Durham Tech's Favorite Food-Themed Books

North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Endows Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. Library Collection
The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation has awarded $50,000 to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation to create the Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Library Endowment. Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. served as president of Durham Tech for 27 years. Upon his retirement in 2007, he established The Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Collection at the Durham Tech Library. It's Summer Session and the Hours Are Changing
It may only be mid-May, but Durham Tech is getting ready to ramp up for Summer Session classes (starting May 23). The Library hours will be changing for the summer beginning Monday, May 16. Come see us at the Main Campus Library Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Library Books: It's time to bring them back home
Everything happened kind of quickly in the spring, but we're back now and ready to take those overdue Durham Tech library books off your hands and return them to the collection. Remember that while we don't charge late fees, we do charge replacement fees for damaged books or long-overdue books. How can you get your books back to us so we can clear your account and make them available to someone else who may need them? You now have two options. Durham-Orange Light Rail Project Resources
The main campus library of Durham Tech has a copy of the Durham-Orange Light Rail Project's Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)--book and DVD--at the circulation desk and it is available for use within the library. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is accepting comments during a 45-day period, which ends on October 13, 2015. Over 200,000 E-books Are Now Available from EBSCO for a Limited Time
EBSCOhost has offered Durham Tech temporary access to its eBook Academic Collection to help students and instructors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Durham Tech has set up a trial subscription with EBSCOhost for its eBook Community College Collection. Between the two collections, that's over 200,000 e-books, 88,000 of which are unique among Durham Tech's current e-books. It's hard to imagine tens of thousands of books.
