This spring the Modern Language Association of America (MLA) replaced its seventh edition handbook with a new eighth edition. The new edition includes significant changes that focus more on the process of writing and documenting sources. 2022 marks the 15th year of the Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. Collection at Durham Tech Library's Main Campus. After retiring, Dr. Phail Wynn Jr., president of Durham Tech from 1980 to 2007, made a great investment in Durham Tech Libraries to create a new, special collection: The Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. Collection. Unlike many of our health science folks, I was academically an English major (and then an education major and then a library science major), so my formal education surrounding anatomy and physiology is lacking. Maybe that's why I love books about the human body so much, especially microhistories that dig deep into particular anatomical aspects. The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation has awarded $50,000 to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation to create the Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Library Endowment. Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. served as president of Durham Tech for 27 years. Upon his retirement in 2007, he established The Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Collection at the Durham Tech Library.
