Check out the Prelinger Archives through archive.org, which contains ephemeral films from advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur sources. Want to see Burt the turtle teach you how to duck and cover in case of an atomic bomb (through a very catchy tune)? How about a cat video from 1947? Wish you could see the importance of springs in daily life? And

New Books for Break
There is still time to check out one (or two or three or four!) of these new books to read over Thanksgiving Break. Books are a great conversation started at dinner and a great way to get some peace amidst the hectic Thanksgiving hubbub. We have SO MANY great new books that I can't include all of them. Some of the books not pictured are written by or about such notable people as Jackie Chan, Stan Lee, Harvey Milk, Malcolm Gladwell, Lois Lowry, Dapper Dan, and Edward Snowden. So come grab a book!
Check us out!: New Books at the OCC
Looking for a fresh fall read? Check out some of the new additions to the OCC library collection. Interested in one of these, but located on a campus other than the wonderful Orange County Campus? Talk to your friendly neighborhood Durham Tech librarian to ask about transferring a book to your campus for pick-up.
Sports! And Reading!
With all the recent less-than-heartening news about college athletes and academics, it's nice to see something positive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbYGCu26xVU Read the article here about University of Georgia's Malcolm Mitchell and the book club he joined to help him improve his reading. Our favorite part? Wait, but what about the touchdowns? "That came natural," Mitchell said. "That's a gift. I had to work to read." While we don't have a book club, we do have lots of great books for you to
Post-Halloween New Books
These books may not have any sugar in them, but they are still pretty sweet. Read one while you're waiting for that sugar-induced haze to pass. [gallery link="none" type="slideshow" ids="3674,3675,3676,3677,3678,3679,3680,3681,3682,3683,3684" orderby="rand"]
