The library discovered a neat new tool called the North Carolina Literary Map, which is a free resource produced by the University Libraries at UNC Greensboro in collaboration with the North Carolina Center for the Book. The NC Literary Map identifies North Carolina places associated with more than 3000 writers and more than 4700 of their books with an interactive online tool that is designed to foster interest in the state’s rich literary tradition. In addition to almost being Earth Day, it's time for April's Crafternoon! Current students can pick up a spring flower kit that includes a seed packet of flowers, a small bag of potting soil, a ceramic pot, and a set of paints and brush to decorate your pot in one of two places: 1) in the Main Campus Library or 2) at the Food Pantry's outdoor pickup location (outside of Phillips). Using mediums to get intelligence from ghosts of soldiers seems like a logical tactic if ghosts were a real and reliable phenomenon. What did you like about it? I like that the book didn’t shy away from the culture of the time in regard to racism and sexism. The author worked these issues into the plot, characters, and setting

Every year, the American Library Association, libraries, bookstores, and other groups and places "celebrate" Banned Books Week the last week in September. While people may object to books based on topic or personal taste, Banned Books Week at its core is about celebrating and promoting the right to read and discouraging blanket censorship of literature based on its subject-matter or presentation. Credo Reference Credo is an easy-to-use tool for research projects and assignments. Search in hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries, subject-specific titles, as well as 200,000+ images and audio files, and nearly 200 videos. This is an excellent resource for finding background information from reference sources. The topic pages have in-depth articles that give a nice overview and explanation of thousands of topics.
