Now in its 24th year of curating and delivering a variety of arts-related experiences at Durham Tech, founding members Lou Rollins, Bonnie V. Stone and Irene Laube saw the need for the college to be at the forefront of bringing art to the community.

News: Wilsons honored for service, support
Jean and Charles “Chuck” Wilson Jr. were honored this fall by the College for their remarkable service and generosity.

With more than 25 years of dedicated commitment, the Wilsons have made a lasting impact on the Durham Tech community.

“Durham Tech is an institution we are proud of, and we are grateful for it being located in Durham,” Jean Wilson said. “It is a place where people find their place in the world and make a better life.”
News: 60 for 60: Since first travel abroad trip in 2005, Durham Tech students have seen the world
In 2005, Durham Technical Community College offered its first travel abroad opportunity for students.

The group traveled to Santiago, Chile, to visit Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda’s home. Participants had the chance to take culture classes, Spanish classes, learn about the country’s geography and history.

Since then, students and faculty at the College have traveled to Central and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa on various trips.

Pharmacy Technology Program Information Sessions
Join us for an in-depth look into the Pharmacy Technology programs offered at Durham Tech. All 2020 fall programs will be 100% online for the fall semester. In addition, you will learn about career opportunities and salary, the job outlook, characteristics and special skills of pharmacy technicians, and admission and prerequisite criterion.
News: Durham Tech’s Paralegal Technology program receives transformational gift
Made possible by the bequest of the late Beulah T. Latta, the Paralegal Technology program has received a transformational gift that includes scholarships for students, a law simulation lab, and funding to upfit classroom space into a mock courtroom. This represents the single largest commitment the program has received in its history. The scholarships will enable the program to actively recruit new students and support current students. The addition of a law simulation lab and a mock courtroom elevates the program’s commitment and ability to deliver experiential learning experiences.
News: 60 for 60: Durham Tech Alumna Elizabeth Fenn named 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner
Elizabeth Fenn didn’t take the usual college path.

​​​​​​​In the mid-1980s, just before starting her doctoral dissertation at Yale University, she left the program, moved to Hillsborough, North Carolina, took automative classes at Durham Tech, and then worked in auto shops around Durham for nearly a decade. She later returned to Yale, finished her dissertation, and became a leader in her field. She became an historian, writer, and professor. 
News: Former College Trustee James I. Bolden passes away at 100
Former Durham Tech Board of Trustees member James I. Bolden, an important figure in Durham Tech’s history and key contributor to improving opportunity and life outcomes for people across the region, died Feb. 20, 2025, at the age of 100.
