News: Durham Tech English instructor’s book of poetry to be published in February
Durham Tech instructor Bridget Bell began writing her debut poetry collection, “All That We Ask of You Is to Always Be Happy,” during a difficult period in her life. 

“I started the book a couple of months after my first child, my daughter, was born. She is 10 now. I struggled pretty badly with postpartum depression and anxiety,” Bell said. “I wrote to get through.” 
College and Career Readiness Programs
Formerly known as Basic Skills, the Durham Tech College and Career Readiness programs focus on developing basic reading, writing, and math skills to allow students to obtain a high school credential.

Durham County voters overwhelmingly supported a $112.7 million bond referendum Tuesday that will construct two state-of-the-art facilities for healthcare and life sciences training.

With booming career opportunities in healthcare and life sciences, Durham Tech is well-positioned to train local talent and provide a diverse workforce pipeline to area companies. Durham Tech leadership has worked with industry partners to plan and design the new facilities.

Durham Tech President J.B. Buxton thanked Durham voters for their support Tuesday and said the new facilities would put more Durham residents in high paying careers.
