Each of the children were homeschooled until 10th grade when five of the seven began Durham Tech’s Middle College, with two of them giving the Commencement speeches at their Middle College graduations. The remaining two children attended Durham Tech in other capacities and the ties to Durham Tech didn’t stop with the Bullocks’ children. Camillie attended Durham Tech, and she received a President's Scholarship toward her ministry studies.

Durham Technical Community College will make several advancements to its Information Technology program and infrastructure with a recent $500,000 grant. The donation was made by an anonymous donor and will allow the College to improve its Information Technology program and to upgrade the wireless service at all campus locations in an initiative known as the Durham Tech Advanced Innovation Learning Spaces, or DTAILS, project.
Durham Tech instructor Bridget Bell began writing her debut poetry collection, “All That We Ask of You Is to Always Be Happy,” during a difficult period in her life.
“I started the book a couple of months after my first child, my daughter, was born. She is 10 now. I struggled pretty badly with postpartum depression and anxiety,” Bell said. “I wrote to get through.”
