The OCC Library: New Books and Upcoming Crafternoons!
The first Crafternoons of the fall semester are next week and we've got opportunities to participate both on the Main and Orange County Campus! Join us Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM in the OCC Lobby or Wednesday, Aug. 30 from 1:00-3:00 PM downstairs in the Main Campus Library and decorate a 12-month agenda or notebook with a design of your choice, including creating your own vision board for the upcoming academic year! New Resource: Films on Demand Streaming Video Collection
Films On Demand is a streaming video platform that features high quality educational video content. The collection includes more than 20,000 films and is constantly growing! Over 200,000 E-books Are Now Available from EBSCO for a Limited Time
EBSCOhost has offered Durham Tech temporary access to its eBook Academic Collection to help students and instructors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Durham Tech has set up a trial subscription with EBSCOhost for its eBook Community College Collection. Between the two collections, that's over 200,000 e-books, 88,000 of which are unique among Durham Tech's current e-books. It's hard to imagine tens of thousands of books. Body Parts: Microhistories of the Physical Self
Unlike many of our health science folks, I was academically an English major (and then an education major and then a library science major), so my formal education surrounding anatomy and physiology is lacking. Maybe that's why I love books about the human body so much, especially microhistories that dig deep into particular anatomical aspects. Or maybe I remember The Magic School Bus and then the Futurama tribute episode fondly, both of which were inspired by the 1966 science fiction classic
