News: Durham Tech, Duke University Health System Partner to Create Nursing Talent Pipeline 
Duke University Health System, Duke Office of Durham and Community Affairs and Durham Technical Community College are joining forces to address the national nursing labor shortage crisis impacting North Carolina.  The collaborative endeavor is aligned with Duke’s Strategic Community Impact Plan (SCIP) goal of supporting college and career-readiness through talent and workforce development, including partnering with public education and regional universities.

News: Celebrating Betty Lyons: 43 years of making a difference at Durham Tech 
Betty Lyons, director of Adult Basic Education, is emotional when she talks about leaving her career of 43 years behind, tearing up as she talks about the students she has worked with over the years. She started in July of 1980 as a part-time GED instructor. Later, then-President Phail Wynn, who was hard to say no to, according to Lyons, asked her to take on Compensatory Education. It was a role she was initially apprehensive about, but ultimately found extremely rewarding and stayed in the position about 10 years. 
Emergency Procedures
The College is committed to the safety and security of all members of the college community. In times of emergency, the College will provide appropriate campus-wide response to assure safety and minimize losses. How you will know to shelter-in-place.
Philosophy
Students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate of arts degree in Philosophy at a four-year college or university would complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree.
Health and Wellness Program Requirements
Health Health and Wellness programs have a limited number of spaces for admissions each year. Due to the limited spaces, admission to a health technology program is gained either by a first-qualified, first-admitted process (for most health programs) or by a competitive admissions process (for nursing programs).

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program announced April 17 that Dr. Angela Davis, Vice President and Chief Talent and Equity Officer at Durham Technical Community College, is one of 40 leaders selected for the 2024-25 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellowship.

The Aspen fellowship aims to select and prepare the next generation of presidents who can lead institutions to higher and more equitable levels of student success.
News: Bank of America awards Durham Tech $23,500 for new construction, community revitalization initiative
The Bank of America Foundation awarded Durham Technical Community College a grant of $23,500 on May 16 to create a renovation and revitalization construction credential program.
