Accessibility Services
Durham Tech provides disability accommodations and services to ensure equal access to all aspects of education. Students may voluntarily self-identify with the College as having a disability or medical condition that impacts access to programs, services, or activities.
Through an individualized, interactive planning process, students are encouraged to use their diverse abilities to succeed.
Durham Tech provides appropriate and reasonable accommodations to students who qualify for services in accordance with:
- Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as amended in 2008
Eligibility
Services are available to students with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to:
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Learning disabilities
- Psychological disorders
- Asperger’s syndrome and other pervasive developmental disorders
- Blindness or low vision
- Deafness or hard of hearing
- Pregnancy
- Mobility impairments
- Chronic health conditions

Students interested in accommodations should:

- Submit Documentation
- Email completed documentation to accessibilityservices@durhamtech.edu
- After documentation is received, students will be contacted to discuss and arrange appropriate accommodations.
- If materials include private or sensitive information, contact Accessibility Services to learn how to securely submit documentation
Current Students with Accommodation Plans
Students should request a new Accommodation Plan each semester using the Accommodation Renewal Request Form. It is a student’s responsibility to renew accommodation each semester.
Students who already have approved accommodations and are experiencing challenges implementing their Accommodation Plan should complete the Accommodation Inquiry Form.
