Study the chemical composition or physical principles of living cells and organisms, their electrical and mechanical energy, and related phenomena. Employment as a biochemist starts with the Associate in Science (AS) degree and transfer to complete a baccalaureate science degree at a four-year college or university. The AS curriculum focuses on courses such as biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, mathematics, or physics.
