Detectives and Criminal Investigators

Detectives and Criminal Investigators scrutinize alleged or suspected criminal violations of federal, state, or local laws to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution. Their jobs could also involve them preparing reports that detail investigation findings, recording evidence, using search and arrest warrants, and testifying before grand juries concerning criminal activity investigations.

Students in the Criminal Justice Technology program explore the layers of criminal justice by developing the ability to understand and apply legal concepts and by learning about investigative techniques, evidence collection and presentation, special areas and laws unique to juveniles, and, ultimately, how to prevent crime and improve public safety.
