FVP-3100D Cinematic Imagery With Poetry

Cinematic Imagery with Poetry is a screenwriting course built around a question all script writers will encounter in their professional career: how can a writer influence what an audience sees and feels without telling a director where to put the camera, telling an actor how to perform, or filling a screenplay with unnecessary description? The course approaches poetry as a practical tool for screenwriters. Students will learn techniques for producing cinematic imagery through poetry, using principles of visual storytelling, composition, perspective, movement, and visual language. Rather than beginning with screenplay theory alone, each class begins with cinema itself.
