EMS-3200R The Difficult Airway Course
The Difficult Airway Course - EMS provides for students to learn the full range of airway management techniques in this course. Continuing education is awarded in conjunction with the Airway Management Education Center. Students work with expert faculty who know the unique challenges facing EMS providers. Proven airway devices are utilized in small group sessions. Students will apply and practice decision-making and airway techniques in Code AirwayTM simulations. In addition, they will also face the most challenging patient scenarios in a no-risk environment. These include: elevated ICP, pulmonary edema, cardiogenic shock, status asthmaticus foreign body in the airway, direct airway trauma, multiple trauma with shock, and many more. Didactic & hands-on training will be applied to predicting the difficult airway, video laryngoscopy, medication-assisted ventilation, pediatric intubation, use of the bougie, cricothyrotomy & extraglottic devices.
