Textbooks and Course Materials

Durham Tech has partnered with BibliU to offer digital textbooks and course materials, making them more affordable and accessible to students. Those enrolled in eligible curriculum and dual enrollment programs will automatically have access to digital textbooks and course materials through Canvas on the first day of class.

Students are charged a flat fee of $78 per digital textbook, added directly to the student's bill each term. Digital textbooks cost up to 50% less than traditional options, providing students with lower-priced course materials. Some course materials may still need to be purchased from the bookstore if they are not available in a digital format.

Opt-Out Flexibility and Print Materials

Students who prefer not to use digital materials may opt out each semester.

  • Opt-out must be completed before the course drop deadline
  • The opt-out deadline will appear in Canvas
  • Opting out applies to all classes for that semester (students cannot opt out of individual courses)
  • Students who opt out are responsible for sourcing their own books and course materials

Dual Enrollment Students

Dual enrolled students are also automatically opted into digital textbooks and course materials at the beginning of each semester.

The same flat rate of $78 per book is charged to the student's account at the end of each term.
