Durham Technical Community College announced last week that Chris Mansfield has been chosen as the new Dean of Science and Mathematics.
Mansfield began his role at Durham Tech in 2003 as a Math instructor and was promoted to Chair of the Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics department in 2012.

Receiving an honorary degree from Durham Tech at its 2025 graduation ceremony meant a great deal to Steve Schewel.

Durham Tech Board of Trustees member Dr. Pat Ashley has spent her career and retirement dedicated to public education.
“Everybody that you touch is a student,” Ashley said. “It’s a way to make an impact on making the world a better place. Over the course of 54 years, you touch a lot of lives.”
