The library has just added Pronunciator to its lineup of online resources. Pronunciator is a language learning website, which runs on just about any computer or device. On a computer you’ll need a browser with a recent version of Java and Flash, speakers and a microphone. Simply go to the library homepage and choose " Articles and Electronic Resources." Pronunciator is under "Literature, Languages, and Humanities." At the Pronunciator homepage you're prompted to provide an email address. When
EBSCOhost has offered Durham Tech temporary access to its eBook Academic Collection to help students and instructors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Durham Tech has set up a trial subscription with EBSCOhost for its eBook Community College Collection. Between the two collections, that's over 200,000 e-books, 88,000 of which are unique among Durham Tech's current e-books. It's hard to imagine tens of thousands of books. Fall 2024 was rough, y'all. The Library ran out of both loaner laptops and calculators within the first weeks of class and, we were operating on a waitlist for the whole 16 weeks. We hated it as much as you did. THANKFULLY, we're mostly great now and ready to check out Chromebooks and loaner calculators to those who need them thanks to our NC DIT Digital Champion Grant which will allow us to buy more and refresh our current circulating Chromebooks AND purchase additional TI-84 graphing

Loaner AND Keeper Chromebooks (and Calculators and Portable Monitors): Digital Champion Grant Update
In December 2025, the Durham Tech Library began distributing "keeper" Chromebooks to qualifying students as the final part of our NC DIT Digital Champion Grant. Our first sixteen students who have picked up their keeper Chromebook (and the others who have qualified) expressed interest in the program on their intake or renewal form, demonstrated need by borrowing a loaner laptop for two terms or more, and met progression goals according to their program.
