News: Durham Tech and Wolfspeed celebrate 71 technician graduates
Wolfspeed and Durham Tech recognized 71 employees who completed a Manufacturing Process Technician or Manufacturing Equipment Technician course at a ceremony last Tuesday at Wolfspeed’s global headquarters in Durham. Tuesday’s graduation represented 10 cohorts from December 2021 through November 2022. 

Wolfspeed and Durham Tech have worked together for more than 20 years to develop customized training for the organization. The technician training partnership began in January 2020 to increase qualified talent for technician positions within their organization. The training includes topics such as workplace success, safety, chemistry, electronics, sensors, robotics, Lean Six Sigma, problem solving, and statistical techniques.  
Paramedics
Paramedics administer basic or advanced emergency medical care and assess injuries and illnesses. They may administer medication intravenously, use equipment such as EKGs, or administer advanced life support to sick or injured individuals.
Massage Therapists
Massage Therapists massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
Drop-in Advising
Information about drop-in advising and the QLess app for avoiding waiting in lines.
Interpreter (Continuing Education)
A 40-hour course that prepares student to become a community or medical interpreter. Instruction is in English.
Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers
Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
News: 60 for 60: Thousands visited Durham Tech for Native American celebrations
In 1991, the Durham Technical Community College Foundation began hosting an annual Native American weekend long celebration that brought thousands of community and K-12 students to campus over a 13-year period.

The University Transfer department at Durham Tech wanted the celebrations to showcase Indigenous culture and Native American history. This eventually transitioned into a campus-wide initiative.

Durham Tech employees, community members, and Native American Tribe members volunteered as the planning committee.
Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications department assists the College with public information, public relations requests, media inquiries, marketing and print collateral, social media requests, and the College website.
