It's July! That means it is time for pie, unbearable heat, and a fresh crop of books to read! Bonus: we're giving away FREE BOOKS in the library right now. They are on a cart next to the entrance. We're adding new ones all the time so even if you stopped by before, come check again.
Books About Writing
Now that NaNoWriMo has started, here are a few books at the library that can help get the creative juices flowing. Here are tips, tricks, and advice from writers of both fiction and nonfiction. The Digital Heritage Center
Durham Tech has a lot of partners that help provide a wide range of services and access to information. One of those partners is UNC Chapel Hill’s North Carolina Digital Heritage Center ( http://www.digitalnc.org). The Center’s mission is support “community engagement and lifelong learning by promoting and increasing access to North Carolina’s cultural heritage.” This includes helping libraries like Durham Tech’s library digitize information, which increases access to the materials. Films on Demand Adds 113 New Titles
You may be familiar with Films on Demand, a streaming video platform with thousands of educational videos. In January of 2015 we announced this new service for the Durham Tech community. On March 7 Films on Demand added over 100 new films to Durham Tech's collection.
