Everything happened kind of quickly in the spring, but we're back now and ready to take those overdue Durham Tech library books off your hands and return them to the collection. Remember that while we don't charge late fees, we do charge replacement fees for damaged books or long-overdue books. Tonight is the night of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala. It is an exclusive and expensive ($25,000 a ticket!) fundraiser for the museum. The library discovered a neat new tool called the North Carolina Literary Map, which is a free resource produced by the University Libraries at UNC Greensboro in collaboration with the North Carolina Center for the Book. The NC Literary Map identifies North Carolina places associated with more than 3000 writers and more than 4700 of their books with an interactive online tool that is designed to foster interest in the state’s rich literary tradition. Durham Tech Library advocates for Open Educational Resources and provides support for faculty and staff interested in exploring OER. If we don't have something you need, we can probably get it! As great a collection as we have, Durham Tech Library doesn't have ALL the books we'd love to have. With the funding we receive, we try to purchase books most needed to support courses being taught at the college, but we can't buy everything that we want and that our very diverse users would like.
