Library Fall Break Hours
The Durham Tech Academic Calendar at http://www.durhamtech.edu/html/prospective/calendar.htm tells us that fall break for students is almost here! During fall break, the Durham Tech ERC main campus library will operate on a reduced schedule, from 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday October 11 and Friday October 12, then closed on Saturday October 13. No classes are in session during this time, so the ERC library computer lab will be closed Thursday and Friday and no free printing will be available

Celebrate National Poetry Month in April
The library has many new books by diverse poets. You can find these on a table at the back of the library on the upper level and on a display rack on the lower level. Internet Research: What's Credible?
When you're doing research online and find some resources, how do you know that they're credible resources? There are billions of websites on the Internet and it can be difficult to discern which ones to use in your research. Here's a video from Films on Demand that provides an excellent overview of evaluating websites for credible information. Dr. Wynn's Legacy in the Library
The Library is saddened by the passing of Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. He was a champion of students and a supporter of the library both during his tenure as President of the College and after. For more than ten years (established in 2007), Dr. Wynn donated funds to establish a special collection based around eight topics he selected consisting of materials that, as per Dr. Wynn's request, "pertain (…) to socially responsible topics…" The topics he selected were the following: Cultural Awareness Global
Citation Workshops update
The library has rescheduled a few of our Citation Workshops due to the winter weather. All workshops will be held in the library's computer lab room 520. No pre-registration required. The Digital Heritage Center
Durham Tech has a lot of partners that help provide a wide range of services and access to information. One of those partners is UNC Chapel Hill’s North Carolina Digital Heritage Center ( http://www.digitalnc.org). The Center’s mission is support “community engagement and lifelong learning by promoting and increasing access to North Carolina’s cultural heritage.” This includes helping libraries like Durham Tech’s library digitize information, which increases access to the materials.
