Dr. Micara Lewis-Sessoms has led efforts in Work-Based Education at Durham Tech since 2007.

Human Resources Development (HRD) courses provide Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) assessment, employment skills training, and career development and enhancement.

This six-semester Associate in Applied Science (AAS) curriculum is designed to prepare or upgrade individuals to safely service, maintain, repair, or install equipment. It covers such topics as DC/AC electricity, motors and controls, PLC, hydraulics, and plumbing. Students graduate with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.

Online courses cover the same content as their traditional counterparts on campus. Class sizes are limited so that instructors can provide the same level of personal interaction they do in the traditional classroom.
In just three semesters, a student can earn their Electrical Systems Technology diploma. Coursework covers print reading, residential wiring, and basic algebra and trigonometry.
