In addition to growing their church, the Bullocks reared their children and became involved with Durham Tech. Each of the children were homeschooled until 10th grade when five of the seven began Durham Tech’s Middle College, with two of them giving the Commencement speeches at their Middle College graduations. The remaining two children attended Durham Tech in other capacities and the ties to Durham Tech didn’t stop with the Bullocks’ children. Camillie attended Durham Tech, and she received a President's Scholarship toward her ministry studies.

Durham Tech graduate DeCarlos Hickson thought back to last December when he pieced together a short animation for the Television Academy Foundation in hopes of catapulting his dream of becoming an animator at a major network.
Durham Technical Community College announced Tuesday that students who graduated from a North Carolina high school this year or who graduated from a North Carolina high school in 2021 can attend Durham Tech this fall tuition-free.
The full cost of tuition for eligible 2021 and 2022 North Carolina high school graduates classified as North Carolina residents by the Residency Determination Services (RDS) who enroll for the Fall 2022 semester. Eligibility extends to high school equivalency earners, those who complete an Adult High School diploma, and those who are home-schooled.
Durham Tech’s tuition-free initiative is a scholarship supplement to the North Carolina Longleaf Commitment Grant, which covers tuition based on family income.

Dune is a story about politics, psychology, religion, addiction, ecology, power, and giant worms in the desert. First published in 1965, Dune has become known as a science fiction classic. Two terrible movie adaptations have already been made and another hopefully not terrible film is coming out in October 2021. The main character is Paul Atreides, son of a Duke, who arrives to the desert planet of Arrakis and meets his destiny there. This book was read by Courtney Bippley, Main Campus Reference

Despite the weirdness of the first two weeks of the semester with weather and unexpected power/data outages, we've made it to week three. Congrats! Why not reward yourself with a little midweek Crafternoon once a month? This semester, we'll be learning a few new crafts and leveraging the talents, skills, and resources of our on-campus partners. As usual, all supplies will be provided for Durham Tech students, faculty, and staff. One new thing this semester: We love that we've had so many folks
