Durham Technical Community College and N.C. Central University announced Tuesday, Nov. 28, details of their Eagle Connect guaranteed admission program to enhance their transfer partnership and provide more supports for student success. The new guaranteed admission partnership is designed to make transferring more seamless for students who earn their associate degree from Durham Tech, then transfer to N.C. Central to complete their bachelor’s degree.

SunTrust Foundation has granted $100,000 to the Durham Tech Foundation to establish the Phail Wynn SunTrust Foundation Scholarship.
Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. served as president of Durham Tech for 27 years, making him the first African-American community college president in North Carolina. He was also a remarkable leader and mentor who was passionate about community. Wynn died of natural causes in July.

Pilar Rocha-Goldberg, President and CEO of El Centro Hispano, has joined the Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees. Rocha-Goldberg was appointed by N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper to replace board member Rick Adams, whose term ended in June. She was officially sworn in on Oct. 8 and is the first Latinx member of the Durham Tech board.
