The Associate in Arts (AA) is a two-year degree for students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate degree. The emphasis is on courses such as business, English, fine arts, foreign languages, history, philosophy, psychology, or sociology.
The 300-hour course teaches the art of caring for the hands and feet. After successfully completing the course, the students will be able to sit for the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art's exam to be a licensed Manicurist.
Beyond Basic ESL offers core classes in Reading/Writing, Listening/Speaking, and Grammar, for those who already have a basic understanding of English and/or have already studied English either in the US or another country
The Massage Therapy program is designed to prepare students for both state and national massage therapy licensing exams through classwork and practical, hands-on training. Students will obtain a foundation for practice as an entry-level professional massage therapist.

The Lakin Institute, which is sponsored by the Presidents’ Round Table of African American CEOs of Community Colleges, is a national professional development program designed with the intent of preparing senior-level executives for roles as community college chief executive officers and presidents.
