News: Durham Tech program first in nation to receive voluntary Advanced Emergency Medical Technician accreditation
Durham Technical Community College is the first Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) education program in the nation to receive its voluntary accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the only nationally recognized accreditation organization for AEMT and paramedic education. In addition, Durham Tech’s Paramedic Program also received accreditation, marking dual accreditation for the College’s EMS pathway.
Grading System
Policies and Procedures Manual: Durham Technical Community College employs a letter grading system to evaluate the students’ performance in meeting the stated objectives of the classroom, laboratory, shop, clinical setting, or work experience.

Governor Robert W. Scott Leadership Award
Created by the North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents in 2004, the Governor Robert Scott Leadership Award recognizes leadership by a curriculum student on a statewide level.
News: Three former students inspire at Convocation 
In August, Durham Tech celebrated Convocation to kick off the new school year, find out what's in store for the College and reunite with colleagues. This year at Durham Tech, Convocation also provided faculty and staff the opportunity to hear firsthand the difference their work has made in the lives of students, with three alumni sharing their experiences. 
Award Refunds
View the Financial Aid award refund dates and enroll in direct deposit. North Carolina community colleges are required by the state to verify attendance in all classes prior to issuing financial aid refunds. Refund disbursement dates are based on when paperwork was completed.
News: Durham Tech students may receive free tuition and fees for summer courses
Many Durham Tech students may now be able to take summer courses free of charge. 

A new Summer Accelerator grant program was announced Friday that uses $27 million in state funding to provide tuition assistance to public and private postsecondary students taking courses during Summer 2022 and Summer 2023. 

The opportunity will allow eligible Durham Tech students to continue their studies over the summer for free. 
News: Bloomberg Grant Funds Innovative Partnership for Early College High School in Durham
A partnership among Durham Technical Community College, Duke Health and Durham Public Schools has been awarded a transformative $29.5 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies to establish an early college for high school students interested in pursuing health care careers upon graduation.

The grant is one of 10 awarded nationally through Bloomberg Philanthropies’ “Student-centered, Market-driven Healthcare Education Initiative.” The initiative’s goal is to address critical health care workforce needs while preparing young adults for successful careers in the field.
