News: Durham Tech opens new location in downtown Durham Chesterfield Building
Durham Tech has launched a new downtown Durham location.
The Durham Tech Small Business Center and Corporate Education department is now housed in the redeveloped Chesterfield Building in the 700 block of West Main Street.
The new location officially opened with a reception on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
News: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: Durham Tech alumnus pursuing his passion 
Bryan Jose Rodriguez-Sanchez, a Durham Technical Community College graduate, began to think about his passion and what he wanted his adult life to be when he heard about the College’s dual-enrollment program that gives high school students the opportunity to also take classes at the College. “I wanted to challenge myself,” Bryan said. “[Dual-enrollment] was the perfect opportunity for me to challenge myself.”

In April, Durham Tech joined colleges nationwide in celebrating Community College Month, highlighting the essential role community and technical colleges play in powering America’s workforce and expanding economic opportunity.
News: Chris Mansfield named new Dean of Science and Mathematics
Durham Technical Community College announced last week that Chris Mansfield has been chosen as the new Dean of Science and Mathematics. 

Mansfield began his role at Durham Tech in 2003 as a Math instructor and was promoted to Chair of the Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics department in 2012. 
News: Durham Early College of Health Science’s 2nd class celebrates Signing Day
On April 20, the second class of the Durham Early College of Health Sciences (DECHS), made up of 101 class members, came together at Duke’s Trent Semans Great Hall to celebrate Signing Day.
News: Durham Tech Celebrates First Public Art Installation and Artist Guy Solie Who Created It
Durham Technical Community College celebrated longtime Durham resident Guy Solie and his recent donation of one of his works of public art to the College on Thursday, April 20. “The Dancers” is on the College’s Main Campus on Lawson Street and will remain on loan to the College indefinitely.
News: Durham Early College of Health Sciences celebrates opening with ribbon cutting
Durham Public Schools, Durham Tech, and Bloomberg Philanthropies joined Duke leaders on Wednesday in celebrating the ribbon-cutting of the new Durham Early College of Health Sciences (DECHS). Located in Research Triangle Park and made possible through a $29+ million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the school is a collaborative effort to position Durham and the Triangle as a model for preparing the next generation of health care providers.
News: Durham Tech program receives second distinguished award for credentialing success
The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) has awarded Durham Tech with the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist Credentialing Success Award for a second consecutive year.
News: Recipients of Inaugural Samuel Taylor Life Sciences Scholarships Named
The N.C. Biosciences Organization (NCBIO) and the N.C. Community College System announced the recipients of the newly established Samuel M. Taylor Memorial Life Sciences Scholarship. The Samuel M. Taylor Scholarship was established at the North Carolina Community Colleges Foundation Inc. in memory of Sam Taylor, a founder and president of NCBIO, the trade association that supports life science companies in North Carolina.
News: New Durham Tech Success Coach Blake Williams helps students create career paths
Now, he works with students who, like him, are sifting through interests and planning for a career. Williams is the College’s first Student Success Coach, the first hire in a new support model at Durham Tech, which helps students with academic advising, career planning, financial aid, transfer policies, and other resources.
