News: Duke University Environmental Services team completes worthwhile educational journey through partnership with Durham Tech
In late 2019, a group of 25 Duke University Environmental Services (UEVS) team members began their journey through Durham Technical Community College’s Environmental Services Management course.
After a few months of in-person classes, the COVID-19 pandemic began, and the program was put on hold.
But on May 5, the group gathered again at the Durham Technical Community College space in downtown Durham’s Chesterfield Building to celebrate their completion of the course, which restarted as a virtual program in early 2021.
Software and Web Development (Continuing Education)
These Continuing Education courses introduce students to software and web development concepts and prepares students for entry-level Microsoft certification.
News: Novo Nordisk to support Durham Tech’s life sciences programs and new training center with $6 million gift
Novo Nordisk, a leading global healthcare company that produces innovative medicines to treat diabetes and rare blood disorders, announces a $6 million gift to Durham Technical Community College to support the College’s life sciences program and a new 35,000-square-foot Life Sciences Training Center. This donation was presented today at a news conference on Durham Tech’s Main Campus.

News: Donation to provide $50,000 in free textbooks to support students as part of new DPS-Durham Tech Partnership 
Marcia Angle and Mark Trustin have donated a sizeable sum to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation, including $50,000 to support Durham Public School students enrolled in courses at Durham Tech. The $50,000 will purchase textbooks for students beginning in the 2023-2024 school year who are part of the recently announced DPS-Durham Tech Partnership. 
News: 60 for 60: Durham Tech partners with Sister Cities of Durham to provide cultural immersion program
Durham Tech’s ties with Sister Cities of Durham began under the leadership of former president Phail Wynn, Jr., who also served as the Board President of Sister Cities – an organization whose mission is to promote world peace by mutual cooperation and respect between international people.

Sister Cities of Durham is an affiliate of Sister Cities International, a nonprofit organization that coordinates exchange visits between partnering countries, including Tanzania, Arusha; Celaya, Mexico; Durham, England; Kavala, Greece; Kostroma, Russia; Sibu, Romania; Tilaran, Costa Rica; Toyama, Japan; and Zhuzhou, China.

Organizational Development and Learning (ODL) is dedicated to creating a culture of learning and community for employees.
Electrical Systems Technology - Control Electrician
Electricians must know how to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Through the Control Electrician certificate program, students will get a better understanding of what the job entails.
News: Liliana Bolanos Arbaca: Making the technical look easy
This July, recent Durham Tech graduate Liliana “Lili” Bolanos Arbaca participated in the University of North Carolina EDGE Genomic symposium. EDGE, or Educational Pathways to Increase Diversity in Genomics, is a two-year summer program providing training in research skills, career opportunities and mentoring to undergraduate students, specifically first-year students and sophomore from underrepresented and disadvantaged, who are interested in genomics careers.
