Films on Demand Adds 113 New Titles
You may be familiar with Films on Demand, a streaming video platform with thousands of educational videos. In January of 2015 we announced this new service for the Durham Tech community. On March 7 Films on Demand added over 100 new films to Durham Tech's collection. The Digital Heritage Center
Durham Tech has a lot of partners that help provide a wide range of services and access to information. One of those partners is UNC Chapel Hill’s North Carolina Digital Heritage Center ( http://www.digitalnc.org). The Center’s mission is support “community engagement and lifelong learning by promoting and increasing access to North Carolina’s cultural heritage.” This includes helping libraries like Durham Tech’s library digitize information, which increases access to the materials. What We're Reading-Ghost Talkers
This book was read by Courtney Bippley-Reference Librarian at the Main Campus Library Why did you choose to read this book? The premise of this book was intriguing to me. Using mediums to get intelligence from ghosts of soldiers seems like a logical tactic if ghosts were a real and reliable phenomenon. What did you like about it? Celebrate and Remember Dr. Maya Angelou
Dr. Maya Angelou, one of the most celebrated and admired poets, novelists, and civil-rights activists in the United States, died last month at her home in Winston Salem. The library has many of Maya Angelou's works including her novels, poetry collections, autobiographies, essays, and cookbook. Check the online catalog for titles. Smithsonian Open Access: Open Educational Images (and a little bit about copyright)
Have you ever desperately needed the 3-D printed hands of Abraham Lincoln or a mammoth skeleton, but just couldn't find the right file?
