News: Viva the Arts celebrates 25 years of impact
Durham Tech is deeply committed to providing accessible, free arts experiences for all students, many of whom are from underserved minority communities. The College prioritizes connecting students with arts and cultural opportunities they otherwise might not be able to access. To institutionalize these commitments, Durham Tech formed a Viva the Arts Committee in 2000, co-led by Library and Foundation personnel. Irene Laube and Lou Rollins (both now retired from Durham Tech) were among the founders of Viva the Arts.
Northern Durham Center
The Durham Tech Northern Durham Center (NDC) offers curriculum courses such as Basic Law Enforcement Training, Criminal Justice Technology, Emergency Management, and Fire Protection Technology. Continuing Education courses include Biotechnology, Fire Service Extension, and Law Enforcement Extension.
Medical Records Specialists
Compile, process, and maintain patients' charts in accordance with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Computer Programmers
Careers: Computer programmers create, modify, and test the code and scripts that allow computer applications to run.
Academic Freedom
Policies and Procedures Manual: Academic freedom is defined as an individual’s right to engage in intellectual debate, research, speech, or written or electronic correspondence, on and off campus, without fear of censorship, retaliation, or sanction.
English Language Requirement for Health and Wellness Programs
All health care workers (native and non-native US English speakers alike) are expected to use clear communication skills in the workplace. Students whose native language is not US English are expected to demonstrate "near-native" US English language abilities. There are three options to choose from to confirm this ability.

The Early Childhood Education program at Durham Technical Community College anticipates it will gain several benefits from earning their full accreditation status.
Substance Use Treatment (Continuing Education)
This program provides students with information and resources necessary to assist individuals in any substance use work capacity.
Journalists, Reporters, and News Analysts
Journalists, Reporters, and News Analysts examine news items of local, national, and international significance to determine topics to address, or obtain assignments from editorial staff members.
