Small Business Center Counseling
The Small Business Center provides free, confidential counseling services for new and existing business owners. The SBC partners with businesses to help develop business concepts and find solutions to challenges.
Summer Hours
Policies and Procedure Manual: Durham Tech operates on a modified schedule during the summer. Public access to College offices is limited to the hours listed for the current Summer Term in the HelpHub section of the College’s website.

Continuing Education programs focused on treatment of common mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
Award Refunds
View the Financial Aid award refund dates and enroll in direct deposit. North Carolina community colleges are required by the state to verify attendance in all classes prior to issuing financial aid refunds. Refund disbursement dates are based on when paperwork was completed.
News: Durham Tech Clinical Trials Research Associate program earns nationally recognized accreditation
The Clinical Trials Research Associate program at Durham Tech is the first program in the region to earn full accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
News: Durham Tech program first in nation to receive voluntary Advanced Emergency Medical Technician accreditation
Durham Technical Community College is the first Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) education program in the nation to receive its voluntary accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the only nationally recognized accreditation organization for AEMT and paramedic education. In addition, Durham Tech’s Paramedic Program also received accreditation, marking dual accreditation for the College’s EMS pathway.
Cooks, Restaurants
Restaurant cooks prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts in restaurants. They may order supplies, keep records and accounts, price items or plan menus.

Two Durham Tech students are now on the road to Tesla after finishing at the top of their Tesla START program class.
With assisted job placement after the program, Patrick Myers and Brendan Sanders started as Service Technicians at the Tesla Service Center in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Aug. 20.
News: Five for Full Rides: Durham Tech students headed to NC State on prestigious Goodnight Scholarship
Five Durham Tech students are headed to North Carolina State University on full scholarships as part of this year’s prestigious Goodnight Scholars transfer class.

Katie Jordan, Caitlyn Frazier, Jesse Parmelee, Jorge Rivera-Lopez, and Susan Edelstein were notified last month that they were among the 51 Goodnight Scholars in the transfer class of 2025.

Acceptance into the Goodnight Scholars Program includes a scholarship of $22,000 per academic year, renewable for up to three years. Recipients were selected from 30 counties across North Carolina and participated in a rigorous selection process, including an extensive application and interview.

In recent years, Durham Tech has been a consistent home for Goodnight Scholars. Six graduates from 2017-21 were selected for the program. In 2022, the transfer class was expanded from 25 to 51, which provided even more Durham Tech recipients.
Public Health Science
Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Public Health Science should complete the Associate in Arts (AS) degree which will transfer to all UNC System schools, most North Carolina independent colleges and universities, and most out of state institutions.
