Tag Like You Have Never Tagged Before: Meet Differentiation Tags
If you've ever wished you could organize your students into groups without creating a mess in your course setup, Canvas has finally answered your prayers. The new Differentiation Tags feature is here, and it's about to make the organization of students in your online classes a whole lot simpler. What Are Differentiation Tags? (In Plain English) Think of Differentiation Tags as invisible sticky notes you can put on students' names. You create these tags, assign students to them, and then use them

Ready for NaNoWriMo?
November is known for Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday shopping season, but for writers it's known for something else. November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), when people put their fingers to their keyboards and pound out 50,000 words in one month. That's about 1,667 words a day. You can do it, we believe in you! There are as many ways to write a novel as there are writers, but for those who would like to plot their novel before writing we've collected some resources
Yellow Books for the Annual Pollening
It's that time of year again. You know what I mean. https://youtu.be/WzusALvGH7U Since we can't avoid it (unless we never leave the house) or control it, we may as well accept it and cope as best we can with itchy eyes, stuffy noses, and a dream of the few perfect days before the humidity settles in our bones. Here are some blonde books to read outside (after taking your allergy meds) to soak up the spring weather with canary covers to hide the pollen. Click on the link in the caption to access
Celebrating OER Week at Durham Tech

Spring 2026 Crafternoons: Crafting with our Community
It's time for another semester of fun Crafternoon events! Held both on our Main Campus and our Orange County Campus, Crafternoons are opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to take a minute to make something with others from their Durham Tech community. This semester we're repeating a few favorites and adding a few new events. At the end of January, help to set your intentions or keep up with your life goals by making personal punch cards/BINGO cards. Want to visit some new outdoor
Library Reads for International Women's Day
March 8 is International Women's Day and was created to focus on the achievements of women across the globe and emphasize the continued need to push for gender parity. This year's theme is "Choose to Challenge," acknowledging that gender bias left unchallenged allows it to continue. To celebrate International Women's Day, check out some of the books that the Durham Tech Library has online and in our physical collection to celebrate women's voices, accomplishments, and experiences. Smithsonian Open Access: Open Educational Images (and a little bit about copyright)
Have you ever desperately needed the 3-D printed hands of Abraham Lincoln or a mammoth skeleton, but just couldn't find the right file? Good news, everyone-- the Smithsonian has released over 2.8 million images (high resolution, 2- and 3-D) from across its 19 museums and institutions into the public domain under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license, meaning they are available for anyone to "copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking
