These Continuing Education courses will provide students with the basic principle and practices of effective teaching.
News: Durham Tech to host the Black Farmers Market every other Sunday
The Black Farmer's Market will be held on the Durham Tech main campus every other Sunday starting April 16 and is open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. Shoppers will find fresh produce and meats from Black local farmers and ranchers. There will be cooking demonstrations, family entertainment, music and food trucks. The Black Farmers’ Market accepts SNAP and participates in the Double Bucks program supported by Duke Health.
Open House
Join us for an Open House where prospective students and community members can learn about Durham Tech’s Guided Career Pathways, student support services, and a variety of student engagement and career opportunities. The event is open to the public and all are welcome.
News: Sofia Avila receives Academic Excellence Award
Durham Tech student Sofia Avila has been selected as the 2024 Academic Excellence Award recipient for the College.
She was honored at the Executive Leadership Team meeting for the College on Friday, April 26.
Avila, a native of Honduras, attended a high school there before her family sought political asylum and came to the United States. Avila said her schooling got a little muddled at that point as the senior year in Honduras is 11th grade.

News: Community Health Lab making a difference in underserved communities 
Durham recently invited community partners and stakeholders to tour the Community Health Lab and learn more about its significant impact on the well-being of area residents. The lab’s mission is twofold. It serves members of underserved communities who face obstacles to receiving health care because of financial barriers or a lack of access. It also provides clinical training site for students, giving them hands-on experience delivering care to individuals from a variety of backgrounds and building the emotional intelligence skills to be empathetic practitioners.  
Manufacturing (Continuing Education)
The Manufacturing program provides students with essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in the dynamic manufacturing sector.
Paralegal (Continuing Education)
Durham Tech's Paralegal (Continuing Education) courses are designed to prepare students for paralegal certification through the National Association of Legal Assistants and the North Carolina State Bar.
Employee Credentialing
Policies and Procedures Manual: To ensure that employees are qualified to perform their job functions, Durham Technical Community College (Durham Tech) requires that all appropriate credentials be verified within the first sixty (60) days of employment for full-time employees, and within the first thirty (30) days of employment for part-time employees.
News: Durham Early College of Health Sciences celebrates opening with ribbon cutting
Durham Public Schools, Durham Tech, and Bloomberg Philanthropies joined Duke leaders on Wednesday in celebrating the ribbon-cutting of the new Durham Early College of Health Sciences (DECHS). Located in Research Triangle Park and made possible through a $29+ million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the school is a collaborative effort to position Durham and the Triangle as a model for preparing the next generation of health care providers.
