Durham Tech and UNC-Chapel Hill celebrated a new partnership Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at the grand opening of the Innovate Carolina Junction. Durham Tech’s president J.B. Buxton announced that the College had opened an office at the Junction’s 136 E. Rosemary Street location in Chapel Hill, to provide space for the its small business and corporate services, along with academic programming.

There were hollers, honks, whistles, and triumphant yells as the 2021 graduating class of Durham Technical Community College crossed the stage on Durham Tech Main Campus for the College Commencement on Tuesday.
Nearly 200 graduates attended the in-person outdoor ceremony with many walking across a stage and others driving through the Parade of Graduates. From Summer 2020 through Spring 2021, 1,829 degrees, diplomas, and certificates were conferred to Durham Tech graduates.

October is Cybersecurity Month, and it began at Durham Tech with a lunch-and-learn with Susan Cropp of the FBI on “Biosecurity from a Law Enforcement Perspective.”

On Sept 19, 2023, Durham Technical Community College launched its President’s Emerging Leaders Institute, which will identify and develop emerging leaders for growth and advancement within the College now and in the future. Twelve employees were selected to participate in the advanced, yearlong program, which is funded by the College’s Foundation.
