Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)
Durham Tech, in cooperation with the NC Community College System, the Durham and Regional Partnership Workforce Development Boards, and the Durham and Orange County JobLink Centers, offers the North Carolina Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).
Public Health Education
Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Public Health Studies should complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree which will transfer to all UNC System schools, most North Carolina independent colleges and universities, and most out of state institutions.

Durham Tech President J.B. Buxton thanked Durham voters for their support Tuesday night following the overwhelming support and passage of the 2022 Durham County bond referendum for Durham Tech. The $112.7 million bond will fund new facilities in healthcare and life sciences that put more Durham residents in high paying careers.

News: North Carolina high school grads can take two years of classes at Durham Tech tuition-free
Durham Technical Community College announced Tuesday that students who graduated from a North Carolina high school this year or who graduated from a North Carolina high school in 2021 can attend Durham Tech this fall tuition-free. 

The full cost of tuition for eligible 2021 and 2022 North Carolina high school graduates classified as North Carolina residents by the Residency Determination Services (RDS) who enroll for the Fall 2022 semester. Eligibility extends to high school equivalency earners, those who complete an Adult High School diploma, and those who are home-schooled.  

Durham Tech’s tuition-free initiative is a scholarship supplement to the North Carolina Longleaf Commitment Grant, which covers tuition based on family income.
News: NCCU, Durham Tech announce guaranteed admission partnership to benefit transfer students
Durham Technical Community College and N.C. Central University announced Tuesday, Nov. 28, details of their Eagle Connect guaranteed admission program to enhance their transfer partnership and provide more supports for student success. The new guaranteed admission partnership is designed to make transferring more seamless for students who earn their associate degree from Durham Tech, then transfer to N.C. Central to complete their bachelor’s degree.
Course Selection Guides
Course Selection Guides offer college- and major-specific pathways for obtaining an associate’s degree and preparing for courses within the student’s major after he or she transfers to a specific four-year university.
Do Great in 8
Durham Tech is shifting over half of its courses from 16 weeks to eight weeks. Eight-week courses are offered in two consecutive terms during the Fall and Spring semesters. In-person, online, hybrid, and blended formats will be available. A combination of eight-week courses and 16-week courses can be taken at the same time.
