Research helps ensure that medicines, treatment regimens, and related products available to patients are credible, safe, and effective.

Clinical research coordinators plan, direct, and coordinate clinical research projects by carrying out such tasks as maintaining required records of study activity like case report forms; recording adverse event and side effect data; and monitoring study activities to ensure compliance with protocols and with all relevant local, federal, and state regulatory and institutional policies.

The Clinical Trials Research Associate (CTRA) curriculum prepares individuals to assist investigators and clinical researchers in the initiation, administration, coordination, and management of clinical research studies for the development of new drugs, clinical products, and treatment regimens. Course work includes in-depth study of drug development, federal regulations, good clinical practices, and clinical research processes.
