An elementary school teacher works in public or private schools, teaching students who range in age from five years old to 12 years old. These teachers teach in classrooms within the school setting, providing children with the necessary building blocks for further learning.
Durham Tech students have two paths to a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. The Associate in Arts (AA) and will transfer to all UNC System schools, most North Carolina independent colleges and universities, and most out of state institutions. The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science in Teacher Preparation degrees will transfer to all UNC System and most NC Independent Colleges and Universities, and it offers more opportunities to focus on teacher preparation and gain classroom experience.
