Mechanical Engineers perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. They oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
Students can use the Associate in Engineering program and complete the AE degree with at least a 2.5 GPA and earn a grade of C or better in all AE courses will have satisfied the General Education requirements and engineering entrance requirements at public UNC universities. Admission to Engineering programs is highly competitive and admission is not guaranteed.
