A chief responsibility of Medical Equipment Preparers, or Sterile Processing Technicians, is preparing, sterilizing, installing, and cleaning laboratory and health care equipment. This technician may also organize equipment and examine pieces for defects or malfunctions.

This course introduces the primary responsibilities of a sterile processing technician and covers the principles of sterilization and disinfection in the workplace as well as distribution of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
