Save Act Employee Training
On March 7, 2013, Former President Barack Obama signed into law the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE Act), a compliment to Title IX and an update to the Jeanne Clery Act, as part of the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. The law is designed to help colleges better protect their students and employees from sexual violence.
SaVE requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs (covering virtually every campus in the United States) to increase transparency about the scope of sexual violence on campus, guarantee victims enhanced rights, provide for standards in institutional conduct proceedings, and provide campus community wide prevention educational programming.
As part of compliance with this act, all employees will be required to complete a training module on this topic.
