The College is committed to creating a more engaged and supportive campus community to build rapport and increase connectivity for all employees. As a valued member of our campus community, it is important to share situations that need attention.

Caught Doing Great Things

Did you catch an employee doing something good? Let us know! Share your story about a member of our campus community who is doing great things. It is important to celebrate when you witness our Durham Tech values in action.

Employee Excellence Awards

Each year, Durham Tech recognizes outstanding employee performance by presenting excellence awards in three categories: Community Engagement, Support Services, and Teaching. The College awards one full-time employee and one part-time employee in each category.

In general, all employees in good standing, regardless of employment type or role, are eligible for award consideration.

Employee Health and Wellness Program

The purpose of Durham Tech’s Employee Health and Wellness Program is to help employees shift from unconscious living, not thinking about your health until there’s a problem, to conscious living, actively making healthy and positive choices to promote wellbeing. We will help engage individuals in their health and wellness journey by focusing on six (6) well-being priorities:

  1. Physical
  2. Community
  3. Financial
  4. Mental
  5. Purposeful
  6. Emotional

The health and wellness program include access to monthly webinars and/or lunch and learns related to wellness, physical fitness opportunities, wellness events, and wellness resources.

Council on Committees

Durham Tech promotes employee excellence and retention by investing in our employees and providing opportunities for broad participation, engagement, and collaborative decision making.

The College’s infrastructure is an organizational structure supported, guided, and overseen by the Council on Committees and comprised of the Faculty Association, Staff Association, Student Government Association, and the following councils: Community Engagement Council, Equity and Inclusion Council, Leadership Council, Operations and Technology Council, Strategic Enrollment Management Council, Student Success Council, and Teaching and Learning Council. Each council is home to committees that support its strategic goals.
