News: U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh highlights apprenticeships at Durham Tech
U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh joined Vice President Kamala Harris visit to Durham Technical Community College on Wednesday and highlighted the work of the College and the plans of the Biden Administration to grow and diversify registered apprenticeships. 

“Community colleges like Durham Tech are essential to this work. They are the engine of equity and higher education. And they are the key to growing our middle class like creating pathways from school to career for American students and American workers,” Walsh said. 
News: Durham Tech one of 14 colleges partnering to nourish neighbors through Collegiate Hunger Challenge 
From now through Dec. 22, Durham Technical Community College is taking part in the fifth annual Collegiate Hunger Challenge, competing against 13 other colleges and universities. The challenge tackles food insecurity on college campuses and empowers students to create awareness around hunger as they compete to collect the most food for those experiencing hunger.  
News: SPECTRUM Club provides safe, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ community at Durham Tech
Sexuality Pride Educate Connect Trust Respect Unity Multiplicity (SPECTRUM) is a student club at Durham Tech whose mission is to advocate for and support the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community.

It was established in 1994 as the Gay and Lesbian Society, and later changed the name to SPECTRUM in 2010.
Civil Leave
Policies and Procedures Manual: Civil leave with pay is granted to any full-time Durham Tech employee summoned by a judge to appear in court as a juror or witness.
News: Durham Tech Grad invited to to attend Warrior-Scholar Project Academic Bootcamp
Brandon Armani, a veteran and Durham Tech student since 2024, has been invited to attend the Chicago area Warrior-Scholar Project (WSP) Academic Bootcamp where he will have the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and strategies needed to thrive in higher education. The bootcamp will be held at the University of Chicago and lasts seven days.

News: Durham Tech opens new location in downtown Durham Chesterfield Building
Durham Tech has launched a new downtown Durham location.
The Durham Tech Small Business Center and Corporate Education department is now housed in the redeveloped Chesterfield Building in the 700 block of West Main Street.
The new location officially opened with a reception on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
News: Wilsons honored for service, support
Jean and Charles “Chuck” Wilson Jr. were honored this fall by the College for their remarkable service and generosity.

With more than 25 years of dedicated commitment, the Wilsons have made a lasting impact on the Durham Tech community.

“Durham Tech is an institution we are proud of, and we are grateful for it being located in Durham,” Jean Wilson said. “It is a place where people find their place in the world and make a better life.”
