On Sept 19, 2023, Durham Technical Community College launched its President’s Emerging Leaders Institute, which will identify and develop emerging leaders for growth and advancement within the College now and in the future. Twelve employees were selected to participate in the advanced, yearlong program, which is funded by the College’s Foundation.
Durham Tech participates in the North Carolina Community College Student Health Plan, which provide short term health, dental, and vision insurance to community college students.

Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program (C-STEP or CSTEP) is a partnership between Durham Technical Community College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The goal of C-STEP is to identify high-achieving, low-to moderate-income students who would not otherwise attend a selective college or university.
