Policies and Procedures Manual: College leave policy for military personnel
Policies and Procedures Manual: Durham Technical Community College’s policy is to protect the college and the students, employees, and vendors from damages and losses associated with the compromise of sensitive personal and personally-identifying information.
The Durham Tech Foundation has added four new members to its Board of Directors, each bringing a strong record of leadership, innovation, and community service. Venus Myles, André Blackman, Terry McDonnell, and Brendan Moylan offer expertise across health care, financial services, entrepreneurship, and community development — sectors that align closely with Durham Tech’s mission of equitable education and workforce advancement.
The Orange County Board of Commissioners approved a new fiscal budget this week that includes $11 million for an expansion to the existing Durham Technical Community College Orange County Campus building, a new position to support small businesses, and student scholarships for high school graduates and short-term training students.
The $11 million building expansion is spread over two years to support a 13,000 – 18,000 square-foot addition to the existing 40,000-square-foot, two-story Orange County Campus building, which opened in 2008. In recent years, Durham Tech leadership has strongly advocated for more space in Orange County given the need for more programming and workforce training options.
The expansion will provide additional space for training areas such as Emergency Medical Services, new Orthopaedic Technology and short-term healthcare courses, and Plumbing and HVAC courses. In addition, the expansion will provide space for Back-to-Work courses and Small Business Center program instruction, as well as additional areas for enrollment services, financial aid, and counseling.

The Computer Science certificate plan of study offers technical skills for graduates for employment in the technology sector as designers, testers, support technicians, system administrators, developers, or programmers who use computer software and\or hardware to design, process, implement and manage information systems in various career fields
During each term, Durham Tech students may meet with any of the available professional tutors during the posted hours. Services are free, and no appointment is necessary during the posted times.
Support scholarships for students may be funded through donations of $1,000 or more annually. Permanently endowed scholarships may be created at the $25,000+ level to support an award in perpetuity.
