News: Bloomberg Grant Funds Innovative Partnership for Early College High School in Durham
A partnership among Durham Technical Community College, Duke Health and Durham Public Schools has been awarded a transformative $29.5 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies to establish an early college for high school students interested in pursuing health care careers upon graduation.

The grant is one of 10 awarded nationally through Bloomberg Philanthropies’ “Student-centered, Market-driven Healthcare Education Initiative.” The initiative’s goal is to address critical health care workforce needs while preparing young adults for successful careers in the field.
Durham Tech Promise
With the Durham Tech Promise, recent high school graduates in Durham and Orange counties can receive up to $1,000 each year for two years.

Students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate fine arts degree (BFA or BAFA) at a four-year college or university should enroll in the Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree program.

News: Durham chef helps mark first year of new Culinary Arts program at Durham Tech
The first students in the new Culinary Arts program will soon mark the end of their first semester.
Throughout the semester, the students have been gaining hands-on experience through their studies and through participation in events. They have also learned more about their industry through such professionals as Durham chef and entrepreneur Ricky Moore.
