News: NCCU, Durham Tech announce guaranteed admission partnership to benefit transfer students
Durham Technical Community College and N.C. Central University announced Tuesday, Nov. 28, details of their Eagle Connect guaranteed admission program to enhance their transfer partnership and provide more supports for student success. The new guaranteed admission partnership is designed to make transferring more seamless for students who earn their associate degree from Durham Tech, then transfer to N.C. Central to complete their bachelor’s degree.
Electrical Systems Technology AAS
The Electrical Systems Technology Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree curriculum provides training for people interested in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems found in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. Coursework is generally hands-on.
Foreign Languages (Continuing Education)
Students can broaden their worldview by taking Continuing Education courses in Spanish, French, German, and American Sign Language at Durham Tech.
Community Health Lab
The Community Health Lab allows students and supervising practitioners to travel where health care is most needed. With the support of Blue Cross NC, Durham Tech is able to scale its efforts by routinely providing services to low-income children throughout Durham and Orange counties.

News: New GoTriangle route connects Durham Tech, NCCU and RTP
GoTriangle has launched a new route to improve direct access between Durham and Research Triangle Park.
HVAC (Continuing Education)
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) courses prepare students for installation, repair, and maintenance of these systems. Heating technology is offered in the fall and air conditioning in the spring.

News: Sofia Avila receives Academic Excellence Award
Durham Tech student Sofia Avila has been selected as the 2024 Academic Excellence Award recipient for the College.
She was honored at the Executive Leadership Team meeting for the College on Friday, April 26.
Avila, a native of Honduras, attended a high school there before her family sought political asylum and came to the United States. Avila said her schooling got a little muddled at that point as the senior year in Honduras is 11th grade.
