Former Durham Tech staff member Edward Moore received an honorary associate degree in Applied Science in Business Administration from Durham Tech at the College’s May 7, 2024, Commencement ceremony.
Moore spent much of his work life at Durham Tech, and his years of service helped set precedent for future growth of the school’s footprint and student body.
“I am proud of my time at the College, and I am humbled to have been there long enough to have seen much growth and improvement. When I started in 1972, the College had two buildings — White and Collins. The growth in facilities and student body has been incredible,” Moore said. “In all my years and different appointments, I enjoyed myself immensely. I had a passion for the diversity of our student body.”

University Transfer programs allow a student to complete up to two years of course work for a baccalaureate degree. The wide variety of freshman-level and sophomore-level courses satisfies general education requirements at senior institutions across the United States.

Support scholarships for students may be funded through donations of $1,000 or more annually. Permanently endowed scholarships may be created at the $25,000+ level to support an award in perpetuity.
Former Durham Tech student and adjunct professor Paul Weinhold credits an apprenticeship with Novo Nordisk that he attained through the College with getting his foot in the door to a full-time career.

Leon Bradford, a Durham Tech student, has been selected as the Dallas Herring Achievement Award recipient by the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS). This is the first time a student from Durham Tech has been selected for this statewide award.
