The construction and real estate downturn in 2009 propelled Durham Tech alumna Felicity “Fizzy” Little to look for a new, recession-proof career. She decided on law.
“Durham Tech was the only school offering a qualified Paralegal Associate degree,” Little said. “I had no real knowledge of Durham Tech prior to that, but it had the specialized program I needed so it was the place for me.”

Policies and Procedures Manual: The section contains policies and procedures relating to matters affecting not only students and employees, but the surrounding community and general public as well.
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmers develop programs to control machining or processing of materials by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems. May also set up, operate, or maintain equipment.
Mental Health Counselors encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships.
Social Workers interview clients individually, in families, or in groups, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services are required to meet their needs.
It is inevitable that equipment will need maintenance. This Maintenance certificate will give students the needed skills to do this type of work proficiently.
The special grade of Credit by Examination (CE) is awarded when a student has applied for and successfully completed the requirements for credit by examination. Qualified curriculum students with relevant prior training or experience may earn academic credit for certain courses by examination.
The General Consulate of Mexico in Raleigh recently granted $16,000 in scholarships for Mexican students and students of Mexican descent to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation.
